Our organisation, Culture in Action, is announcing the second film festival‘With brand-new Eyes – Festival II – Screenings for an island’ to take place between the 4^th- 6^th November 2011 at the Home for Cooperation, in the buffer zone, opposite Ledra Palace.

Following last year's successful event, Culture in Action repeats the festival aiming in the revitalization of the historic center of Nicosia, as well as bringing together Greek and Turkish Cypriot filmmakers and filmmakers of other nationalities that live and work in Cyprus.

The festival is supported by the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture.

The NGO Culture in Actionin cooperation with the Cyprus University of Technology organized a graphic poster exhibition with social subject, the first of its kind in Cyprus.The festival aimed to provide a field of genuine cultural interaction within the European Year against poverty and social exclusion. Thirty professional graphic designers were invited to create, within the above target, posters, which were exhibited in Nicosia (Kastelliotissa place, 1-4^th November) and Limassol (Palio Ksidadiko exhibition place, 26-30^th November 2010). Additionally, this festival provide with the opportunity for local professional graphic designers to expose their work to a wider audience and to create collaborative networks.  The inauguration was held on November 1^st by the Minister of Education and Culture Mr. Andreas Demetriou. The exhibition was under the supervision of Evripides Zantides, Assistant Professor at the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts Department of the Cyprus University of Technology.
